Hey guys, since we get a lot of talk regarding Ethereum gas I figured we could aggregate helpful tips, links, and other information in this thread.
I'll kick start with this link, it shows you the historic gas price overtime and also a heatmap of the most expensive/affordable times to transact.

I always check https://ethgasstation.info/ before making transactions. Also it’s important to understand EIP1559 (https://link.medium.com/UBvdAFz3jdb)which has significant impact on the gas.
IdlePaleAle Excellent article on EIP1559. Lots to learn in there. Really hoping ETH can get rid of the looming infinite supply and this seems like it will help tremendously.
Just found this live Ethereum & Bitcoin blockchain transaction and mempool visualizer. Excellent resource for explaining and showing how transactions, mempools, blocks and fees work behind the scenes.

What about a gas relay that is paying for the tx fees and the relay is funded by a pool. Gas Fee Pool: Pooltogether but instead of winning the pool funds they win OCTO and need lock DAI. The pool DAIs are loaned and generating dividends. The dividends are used to pay the gas fees, stored in the Octo Gas Relay. https://medium.com/blockrocket/pleaserelayme-truly-free-meta-transactions-for-dapps-and-users-5b0f0f1753eb
